Madman, roadside
Poem
At the wheel, 5 pm evening, nearing sunset, smooth tarmac. Hyundai Verna, smooth as melting butter, on a hot pan. Doing 60, we glide along, the sepentine tarmac. A madman appears — torn shirt, matted, unkempt hair &beard. Body lathed in grime and dirt. He walks casually, happily entertaining himself. My friend at the co-passenger seat says — "These people's life is also amazing, in a way. Not a single care in the world." I let out a deep sigh in agreement. How much does life have to fuck you, that you envy even a madman, at the side of a road? ~ Shubham Upman
